Many people on my friend’s list seem to be going through heavy stuff or coming to some serious realizations. So to be different, mine is all fluff. (Honestly, I have been wanting to blog about this and almost didn’t because it seemed so serious out there today.)
I got laundry done last night. I have been trying to do this since before Xmas. I got one load of blacks done at Xmas-time. Two loads of whites were done as an experiment with bleach on Sunday. The dirty clothes have been riding around in my car since Sunday. 10 loads later (6 regular, 4 double loads) and $25 later, I have clean clothes again!!!
Ok, I still had clean clothes but my favorites where in the pile. I have a lot of clothes. I like the fact that I have a lot of clothes. Clothes is just another word for Costumes and my costume ability has been extended back to its full range. Today, I am being Gray Victorian. I am wearing black and white plaid pants, grey argyle socks, a black/white/grey patterned shirt, a dark charcoal striped vest. I call it Victorian because all the clashing patterns.

clean laundry = good
I spent a decent chunk of Monday doing laundry, so I can relate. I am do glad I had the day off to catch-up. I finally washed the new table linens I used at Thanksgiving (such low priority over clothes).
Re: fluff
I like doing it at Laundromats because the difference between doing one load and 6 is a fraction of the time. I got there by 8pm and was done by 10pm. Then I had to forget a load and go back after I put my laundry away at home and that was 11pm. Silly/stupid Gina.
If there were only a few loads to do and I could trust that my apt complex washers and driers would be operational, I might do it at home and watch tv.
Re: fluff
do it at home and watch tv
that is what I usually do. Folding laundry is easy TV watching justification.
I used to get together with a friend who lived nearby to combine our loads so we could use the extra big machines at the laundromats and still have whites, darks and several color loads (typically blue-greens, red-browns, and a light color).
OTOH, the advantage of having a washer/dryer on-location is it is easier to justify doing smaller loads.
I see this resemblance to me, I do laundry once or twice a month and when I do it costs about $50 to get it all clean. So off to the laundry mat and hog half of the washers and dryers. When it is all done it takes 2 hours just to fold it all, to go back in the drawers.
I always ask myself if I did 1 load a day I would have 2 days a week of not doing laundry. Wait, I only do it once every two weeks so that is 13 days off from laundry instead of 2 hours every day of doing laundry. Maybe this is the right way to do it. 4 hours every other week is good! That’s the way to rationalize so many clothes.
