I have been to the mountain…

…and now I am back.

I made it through an intense 6-day Enneagram workshop led by Risso and Hudson. People who know the Enneagram might have a clue what this means.

I feel like a college graduate. I feel like I have sooo much knowledge when all I really have is a clue and pile knowledge that is like an ant hill but is much more than I had before.

I have a lot more knowledge on the nine types of the enneagram and how they interact. I find it an extremely useful tool for making sense of why I do things and how others are the same and different from me. Things seem so much clearer. And as complex as to make very little sense. It will take be quite awhile to unpack all I have encountered. If anyone is interested in what I learned and would want to discuss it let me know. (yes atzuluth, we need to get together)> I would not presume to teach any of this stuff but I am open to sharing.

I know people who go through this can become Enneagram Evangelists. The bouncy bouncy “let me share this cool thing I found” part of me wants to do this but I know better. That is why I am making this broadcast message. I figure I would let people know what was up in case they would be interested and then hopefully, I will be able to be quiet about it and not push it on others. If any of the changes I have gone through stick, people may or may not notice.

While the Enneagram is a tool like the Myers-Briggs for understanding people, this workshop was so intense that it had a very spiritual side to it. I may have found something that makes the journey worthwhile. I managed to tap into pain that I had no idea was still around. And found that this was not a bad thing. For this, I ask that people respect my attachment to this system. If I end up pushing it, please tell me to back off and do it in a kind manner.

For those that are interested, at this moment I am a self-preservation counterphobic 7 with a 6 wing at a health level between 4 and 5. And Don Risso tells me I am not a stereotypical 7 at that. How’s that for a definition of who I am? :)

  1. *smiles* very cool and wb. I’d be thrilled for the chance to sit down and discuss enneagram with you. And hearing more about your experiences.
