I am doing it again. I am putting forth an event to see if people would like to join me.
I was listening to the radio this morning (trying to wake up) and was really enjoying their guest. She was funny and her brain moves as fast as mine. I enjoyed her humor which is rare these days. So many comedians get their laughs in ways I don’t find funny so I try to keep track of the ones that share my sense of humor.
Being that I was still somewhat asleep, I couldn’t tell who it was or why she was on the show. After I got some food into me I found out it was Caroline Rhea and she is doing a fundraising show Tonight (womenscommunityclinic.org). I thought it would be nice to go see the show. Then she mentioned Friday Afternoon Parties and Sabrina and I realized who Caroline Rhea is (Hilda from Sabrina is the most long running of her acting jobs). She is one of the comedians I love. I so want to go to this show.
When I got to work and had access to the internet, I managed to actually remember the site and found the show. And was cressfallen. It is $125. It includes finger food, drinks and a silent auction. Good cause, above my means and comfort level.
My co-worker, Dave, suggested that she might have another show at a more reasonable price so I checked out her website (he is so good at calming me down when I get weird like this). I found out she is going to be at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center
(San Ramon) Saturday, June 21st at 8:00pm and Single Tickets: $35. At first I was reading this as Santa Rosa and that would be sort of an all day thing, but San Ramon is easy peasy so I decided I am going.
I waffled about going to see Wishful Drinking with Carrie Fisher until it was the day before it ended and I bought a ticket at the last minute for just myself. It was a delightful night and I am so sorry other people missed it. So I am all eager to see the show with Caroline Rhea.
So, this all adds up to – Would anyone like to join me to see the comedian Caroline Rhea in San Ramon, Sat June 21st, 8pm for $35 (plus ticket charges I am sure)?
Sounds like fun and I was quite tempted till I checked my calendar: Crystal, Paul and I will still be in Alaska.
Tell me about afterward? I also find most comedians not funny so would like to hear what she’s like.
Grr…looks like I’ll be in Fair Oaks for a Ren Faire that weekend.
And Caroline Rhea was always my favorite of the 3 Sabrina women…
I am a possibility, it all depends on how the summer calendar works out. I am trying to be in San Diego during the week preceding and not due to drive back until the day after this show. If it pans out that way.. if it doesn’t then I will most certainly like to go with you. I will get a siter for the kiddo.
Well sadly I will be at a wedding in SF and Ryan will be at a wedding in Sacramento that day…we couldn’t even manage to be at the same wedding! Sigh…
