SD card

My camera uses an SD card for the memory. I tend to leave good pictures on it so I can use my camera as a little mini photo album. After a few years, I have so many pictures on it that there is little room for new pictures.

I know that when new toys/electronics are bought, sometimes we have to change memory formats. I have some old compact flash memory that I no longer use.

I was wondering if anyone has old SD memory cards that they are no longer using. I could use them as my photo albums leaving a clear one for new pictures. Figure it can’t hurt to ask.

  1. Not directly apropos, but…

Heya! This is Andrew S., the tall guy with a beard from J’s Christmas party. Well, I guess “with a beard” doesn’t narrow it down a whole lot with that crowd. And you might not think I was all that tall, though I was at least not short. I was the guy who answered the door, if that helps.

Anyway. I seem to remember you were taking pictures at the party. Any chance I could get a copy of the pictures? Have you set up an online album or put them on Flickr or something? Failing that, you could email them to me at asolovay at gmail dot com, and they’ll get to me.

I’ve Flickrd my own pictures of the party–you can get them at

It was neat meeting you! Hope to see you again at some such thing.

      Welcome aboard

Anyone my height or above is tall. :)

I do have pictures and I do post them. Problem is that I haven’t gotten around to posting anything of 2005 yet. My speed isn’t all that great. The party pictures are still in the camera. I am close to posting 2005. I will be putting an announcement on my journal when I do.

I would email them but I am on dial-up and I have found that doesn’t work so well.

It was also good meeting you.

  2. I’ll keep an eye out, but that’s also what my phone uses so I won’t be giving up my card exactly anytime soon. Do you also archive them onto something else, just in case the card fails? I’ve seen it happen to customers of ours and the data recovery (when possible) isn’t cheap.

Always, always back up those digital pictures!! If you need any help with that, just give me a call or drop me an email.

    1. I download my pictures to my computer and have started backing up the computer (sort of). So there is no worry of losing anything more than the most recent pictures. I just leave some of the really cool ones on the card to use it like a photo album. Like Gina with blue hair, Angel Gina, etc.

I am just getting to a point that after 3 years, there are enough cool pictures on the card, there isn’t a whole lot of room for new pictures. And the sad thing is, I have recently had use of those old pictures so it isn’t like I am keeping pictures that have no use.

My life is so Sad. *le sigh*

I wouldn’t mind back-up advice for the computer. I would like something that would just grab the stuff that are new since the last back up. The last time I knew how to do that, it was in DOS. Stupid graphic interface. :P

      1. Well, Windows actually has a decent routine in XP for doing backups, depending on what media you are going to back it up to. I should probably talk to you on the phone or email sometime and see just what you have to make the best decision.

  3. You should have mentioned it while I was still at the house. Due to a holiday mix-up, I was gifted with an extra SD card (I now have three and I never managed to fill two even on a long trip). You can have one. Remind me and I’ll give it to you on Sunday.
