Dude, Where’s my Car?

My car is in the shop and I didn’t realize how much I mentally check on it. It is street sweeping today and when I heard the street sweeper go by I mentally checked where my car was and had the heart breaking realization that I don’t have a car to worry about. It is in the shop and away from me. *le sigh* I miss my lovely wonderful car. I want it back.

Yesterday, I went shopping with capricious_k so I didn’t need a car. Today I walked to the polling place to vote. After that I called Enterprise to rent a car so I can visit with my mom as she flies through SFO on her way to Bali today. They came and picked me up and we started the paperwork for an economy car. I saw a beautiful silver PT Cruiser on the lot and asked how much it rented for. Only double what I was going to be paying. *Aw sigh* the opportunities lost. But I might be paying for the car out of my own pocket and I feel I should do what I can to keep the cost low so that the people that should be paying for the rental aren’t gouged, but still, a chance to drive a PT Cruiser. The boss saw my longing and my resolve to stick to the economy car, a Dodge Neon, and as I were were walking out to put me in my rental car, he says that he will do the upgrade for $5 more a day. My head was already nodding before I got a chance to say anything. So I am currently driving a sleek silver PT Cruiser for a couple of days. I wouldn’t trade my car for the cruiser but for a few days, I don’t miss my car quite so much. :)

So I just had to stop into the Public Library and post this on my day off. Gotta share.

  1. hmm… so instead of a neato-cool mostly-herse you get to drive a sleek silver cruiser… not a bad way to go if you have to be without your coolest car!

(yup… I finally gave in and got an LJ – so now I am finding friends and learning much more about peoples lives! wheee!)

    Hugs,
    Kate

  2. Your Car

Okay. You gave me a brief scary moment with the title. I still mourn the theft of my Honda.

Glad Serenity is getting patched up. The PT Cruiser is indeed very cool substitute.
