A mystery

My car was parked across from the North Berkeley bart station yesterday. When I got in, I noticed a note under the far side of the passenger windshield wiper. When I had a chance, I pulled over to see what it was attached to my dear car, fearing some sort of accident had happened that I hadn’t noticed when I got in.

This is the note.

“All problems in life go away after time”

I don’t know if this is from a friend that thinks I am up to my eyeballs in problems that didn’t sign their name.

Or if it was for someone else with a black scion.

Or if it is the universe trying to tell me something by sending a random person to leave a random note on a random car.

It didn’t occur to me to check for notes on other cars but I didn’t notice any at the time.

My problems right now feel pretty manageable. I am knee deep in them and I think I am doing a fair job of wrestling them into order. My knee jerk reaction to the idea the note illustrates is – Of course all problems in life go away after time, death comes in time and after death, there are no more problems in life. Seems a little obvious from this view. I realize what the sentiment in the note really is trying to convey and I appreciate it. I just can’t stop thinking the other way after years of practice.

So, anyone know where the note came from? A little mystery is fine, but I am lousy at puzzles and I hate not knowing the answers.

  1. I have had random acts like that in Berkeley before. Twice now, someonoe’s put a flower or a bouquet on my car window. No note, no credit.

    I like it. =)

    1. Yeah, the Tinkerbell paper and childish scrawl don’t suggest a friend trying to tell you a serious message about any descent into heinous sadness.
