I got a new car *bouncy bouncy bouncy*
I picked it up Friday before disappearing for the weekend. Currently it has something like 61 miles on it.

When I drove it home, I kept banging my head on the steering wheel saying “I can’t believe I got an automatic.” I have locked myself into an automatic for the next 10 years. I am sure it will be fine once I get use to it but for the next couple of weeks or so, my pride will be learning to live a different way.

There other freaky thing is the lack of lights directly in front of me. I am use to being able to see the turn signals and windshield wipers levers at night but now I can’t. Serenity has a center display and the speedometer is to the right and above the steering wheel. I got use to that fine but the lack of any light from directly in front of me keeps making me think I didn’t turn my headlights on until the brain can reboot and process where the lights are.

She’s a beauty and she fits. In moving my old car, I realized that the rear view mirror is at eye level. In Serenity, it is actually above my eyes. Ahhhh Joy.

I look at these pictures and I get the My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult song running through my head with the words “Box on wheels”.

It has everything I want. I was tempted to get the security package ($500) just so I could have remote entry (the key clicker thing). When I was given my keys, there was a clicker near them and I thought they forgot that mine was one without that feature. Nope, it is standard. It is just the bells and whistles that are missing. Weeee. I have fun making Serenity’s lights blink when I walk up to her. The CD player plays MP3s and is happily crunching on a disk I made of most of my old favorites from my College years. I even get a little first aid kit in a leather manuals case and three free oil changes. The seats fold all the way down making a flat surface from the back to the front dashboard. My sales guy didn’t even know that. I saw it in a picture and messed around while waiting for him to get paperwork. That means I can sleep in there if I need to and I can fit a 5′ coffin if I drop the passenger seat. The skull rosary is already on the rear view mirror and I picked up my 1.5′ paper coffin last night to live in the back. Me? I’m not a goth. ^_^
